A Finished Quilt

These are photos of my most recent finished quilt. I always enjoy seeing outdoor photos of other quilters' quilts so I am returning the favor. This photo was taken off a bridge at the Rockefeller State Park in Sleepy Hollow, NY.

By now you might recognize my Sultan’s Garden fabrics. The quilt design is based on Kathy Doughty’s Fireworks quilt featured in her Making Quilts book. I love her books and especially admire her use of fabrics.

I used an 18-degree template to create the wheels. The centers are appliqued in place as well as the wheel itself.

I machine quilted around each block, and then quilted the rest by hand.
